5 Questions from the Community

  • The Weslock 1710J can come as any of those three latch types. If you select Round Corner Latch Type you will receive a round corner faceplate and a round corner strike plate. If you select Square Corner Latch Type you will receive a square corner faceplate and a square corner strike plate. If you select a drive-in latch type you will feceive a drive-in faceplate and a round strike plate. The faceplate can be found by opening the door and looking at the edge of the door (not on the door jamb, but on the door where the latch extends). That plate will have corners that are either round or square. This is required information mainly to avoid conflict with pre-drilled doors. A drive-in faceplate is used when the drilling is just slightly around the edges of where the latch is. Please see Door Hardware 101 (http://www.handlesets.com/door-hardware-terminology-definitions/c4823). The strike plate is the plate that the latch hits when closing. This is installed against the door jamb and will usually be either round corner or square corner.

What is the difference between round and square corner or drive-in?

Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully Unique I was looking for something different. I found it in this product. I love the look of these knobs. They have been added to a higher end home. The buyers in our community all want this style now. I purchased it in the oil rubbed bronze. I came back today to purchase for our buyers in satin nickel. Everyone compliments these. Thanks so much for quick shipping and tons of compliments. Im sure we have set a trend for our community.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Look & Quality I'm extremely happy with the quality and style of these door handles. I purchased the Satin Nickel finish for my 31 year old home that had all brass, but mismatched and dinged-up door knobs - they'd been replaced only as needed over the years by previous owners without much thought on quality or consistency in appearance. I was pleasantly surprised at how much they even dressed up the existing 31 year-old doors; which I?ll eventually replace, but I couldn't wait to install these knobs! The installation was a bit tricky on the first knob, but the remaining knobs were a breeze once I got over the initial learning curve. I replaced 5 knobs in about 1-1/2 hours by myself; I imagine that time would probably be cut in half if I?d had an extra pair of hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit Our house is 114 years old and we are re-doing our first floor to match that. We bought solid wood doors and stained them, and put these handles on those doors. They were a perfect fit as far as adding an antiqued look but also still visibly new products. We are very happy with the way they turned out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy and well made I replaced all of my interior doors with 6 panel doors and replaced all of my hardware with oiled bronze hinges and knobs. I am sure it increased the value of my home far beyond the cost of materials. A great update to enjoy and increase the value when I sell in years to come. Knobs are very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking I placed these on the exterior doors of my new home. They are beautiful and easy to install, my only regret is I did not put them on the interior doors. Very well made.
