1 Question from the Community

  • The Swanstone SB-1248 has a seat that is two times thicker than the wall panels. The wall panel thickness is 0.40". The material is Swanstone, which is like an acrylic, but not as rigid. It is resistant to stains. It's a much more durable material than other acrylic models.

What is the exact thickness dimension? What is the "solid surface" composite made of?

Product Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very cheep looking! We recently tiled our shower stall, however wanted the seat to be a solid surface, so this looked like it would be prefect. Boy were we wrong! The product's edges are square and it has a VERY thin profile. When we cut to size and set it in place it looked like we set a piece of sheet rock down. The color was fine, but it was very difficult to cut. Not happy! Do not waste your money. We now went to a granite company and got a marble remnant cut and finished for $100!

Swanstone Corporate Statement For more than four decades, we have been a quiet leader in the kitchen and bath industry. Our high-quality products have always balanced durability, value and style. Innovation is one of our core values, and we have set a standard with our ability to invent. Now it's time to reinvent. The Swan Story For more than 40 years, we've been creating innovative and affordable solid surface products and materials for customers all over the world. It started in 1964, when we introduced the Swan Shell Shower, a doorless, shell-shaped shower that captured the spirit of its time. The Shell Shower was the first in a long line of original kitchen and bath products from Swan, including the Circle Shower as well as the industry's first non-ceramic tile bathtub wall system. In 1987, we introduced Swanstone to the world, first with a line of vanity tops and bowls. Swanstone quickly became known for its superior impact strength, heat resistance, and ability to resist scratches and stains. Consumers now had an elegant and durable solid surface material that was also affordable. Since then, our Swanstone line has expanded to include a wide variety of kitchen sinks, countertops, tub and shower walls, and more. In 1994 we introduced the Swanstone 1/4" sheet program, offering even more flexibility to Swanstone customers. In 1997 we introduced a complete line of Swanstone products for the restaurant industry, including tabletops, countertops, vanity tops, mop service sinks and windowsills. At Swan, we're committed to a policy of continuous improvement, to providing our customers with the highest quality products and most responsive customer service in the kitchen & bath industry. And we stand behind this commitment with some of the best warranties in the business. Made in America The Swan Corporation is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with manufacturing facilities in Centralia, Illinois. We proudly manufacture all products made from these material systems in the USA. Swanstone Veritek Swan High-Gloss
