Does this require additional hardware to work in other lights? Is this the same as a GU24 compact fluorscent?
A. Thank you for your question. The Sea Gull Lighting 97040 is only meant for use in fixtures that can accommodate Bi-pin CFL bulbs which is what kind of bulb this is. Furthermore this is not the same as a GU24 CFL. If you have any other questions please let me know and I would be happy to help.

Special bulb

limited utility
Bulb requires separate Sea Gull electronic ballast socket #90028 for use. If you have a lighting fixture that requires this proprietary bulb/ballast socket set-up, be prepared to stock up on both as these are not easy to find. (Yes, the bulb and/or the ballast may fail.) Many thanks to LightingDirect.com for their tremendous service, including willingness to replace a ballast socket order that failed on receipt, free of charge.

Great Bulb
Had a hard time finding a small enough bulb that wasn't bright white. This bulb has a nice soft white color and is small enough for most uses. Great product so far.

Good buy
I like those bulbs b/c they're so energy efficient. However, they are extremely hard to find! Also, as with all energy efficient bulbs, it takes about 5 seconds for them to light up after you flip the switch, which may be annoying to some people. Overall, I like these.

great light, quick shipping
the first time i got this bulb sent to me, it came as cracked. i called lightingdirect, and they apologized and re-sent it quite quickly, with even more packaging. the light emitted is warm (and surprisingly, not the harsh-white, sterile light of most fluorescent bulbs - if this is what you want -ie, harsh-white-, then look elsewhere).

ENERGY STAR Qualified products are warranted for two years.
Sea Gull Lighting at its sole option will repair or replace, F.O.B. Factory, freight prepaid, any Sea Gull Lighting product defective in materials or workmanship. Such replacement is the exclusive remedy against Sea Gull Lighting should any of the products delivered prove defective. Invoices for labor charges and / or charge backs for labor will be denied unless prior written approval is given.Any modification to a Sea Gull Lighting product not made at the factory will void the products’ safety listing (such as UL, ETL, etc or other recognized laboratory) as well as the Sea Gull Lighting warranty policy.
CEILING FAN WARRANTY: Sea Gull Lighting ceiling fans offer a limited LIFETIME warranty to the original owner against defects in material and workmanship. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied and does not cover cost of removing and / or re-installing the fan.
Year one – Sea Gull Lighting will repair or replace this ceiling fan if it is defective due to faulty materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover the glass portions of this product, nor does it cover damages caused through abuse, improper installation, surges in current, or the acts of third parties.If a warranty claim is made in year one, simply return fan with a copy of the original sales receipt, freight prepaid to Sea Gull Lighting, at its option, shall repair or replace the fan or refund the purchase price. Please do not return glass portions of ceiling fan.
After Year One – Warranty is limited to the motor, Sea Gull Lighting will repair or replace the motor if defective due to faulty materials or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damages caused through abuse, improper installation, surges in electric current, or acts of third parties.
