Is this hardwired or does it plug in/. I am trying to find wall sconce with switch to eitehr plug in or hard wire into a deep plug in outlet originally intended to plug in a lamp for artwork. The space is 2 3/4 by 4 5/8 and is 1 1/2 deep. I did not understand the concept of a mounting strap.
A. Thank you for your question. The Progress Lighting P3813 is hardwired and does not plug in. A mounting strap is included for installation allowing for the fixture to be centered and installed over a outlet box that does not have any bracing to hold the fixture. So the mounting strap is attached to the 2-holes that hold the mounting box and places a strap of metal across the outlet box with a hole in the center allowing for the fixture to be tightened.
