What is an escutchen

A. An escutcheon is a deck plate that is used to cover pre-existing sink holes so that a single hole faucet can install on a countertop drilled for a 3 hole 4" centerset faucet. The GT42-DF0 includes a matching escutcheon. To see an example of this please see the product image gallery, it shows the faucet with and without the escutcheon.

Love this faucet! We absolutely love this faucet! It was relatively easy to install and obviously well-built. The kids think it's a waterfall and our guests say they feel like our bathroom belongs at a spa. My only cautionary word is that the faucet is quite tall, so be sure your sink is deep enough before purchasing. Ours sink is only about 6" deep, so the water tends to splash a bit and can leave water droplets on our shirts... but, hey, it's only water! July 5, 2011
