Can this diverter switch between shower and hand held, as well as combine for both at the same time? Or will two diverters be needed? Or is there a better way to get A + B functionality?

is there a off /on position on this diverter or is the another diverter i can use

A. The Pfister 015-3WDX is a 1/2" 3-Port Shower Diverter Rough In Valve. This only diverts the water. This valve has no on/off function. You would use this valve in connection with a shower trim/vavle and you wanted to add a hand shower in addition. You could then divert the water between the shower head and the handshower or both.

Had to return Even though this rough in is recommended for the Pfister 016-2DF along with the Pfister R89-7DFC. You still need the value to have the water come out of the spout. I ended up with a purchase of a 6 way value function. So that all could work. July 2, 2011
