The bathroom faucet is one of the most used fixtures in the home. A almost any guest will end up seeing it at least once so select a faucet that reflects your design and taste. You want to make sure you get the right faucet for your application and your style! 
Bathroom Faucet Installation Type
What type of bath faucet is compatible with your Bathroom Sink?
Bathroom applications generally have 1-3 holes located in the rim (or deck) of the sink, the counter top or the wall above the sink. After you determine where the faucet will be mounted you should then measure the distance between the center of the far left hole to the center of the far right hole.

- One hole in the sink or counter, a Single Hole bathroom faucet will fit your application. 
- Three holes 4 apart on a sink or counter, a 4 Minispread faucet or 4 Centerset faucet will fit your application. 
- Three holes 8 apart on a sink or counter, an 8 Widespread faucet will fit your application. 
- Holes on the wall will only work with a Wall Mount faucet. 
- One, Two or Three holes in a counter with a Vessel Style sink your application requires a Vessel Faucet these faucets have a taller spout that allow them to reach the sink. 
Bathroom Faucet Installation Options
Single Hole faucets come with one or two handles attached to the spout itself creating a very simple design which is ideal for smaller sinks. If you like the look of a single-hole faucet but have a sink with 4 hole drillings, look for a faucet with an optional deck plate that covers the extra holes and still maintains the faucet design. 
4 Centerset faucets are compact and space-efficient, the spout and handles are attached to the base. Styles include both two handle and single lever designs. 
4 Minispread faucets are similar to the Centerset faucet and fits the same application size. The difference is that the 4 Mini Spreads hot handle, spout and cold handle are 3 separate pieces giving the look and feel of a larger widespread model. 
8 Widespread faucets have handles that are 8 apart (some can extend to 16 apart). These faucets are ideal for large sinks where the scale and size of a smaller faucet might get lost. 
Vessel filler faucets are used specifically for vessel style sinks. These faucets have a higher spout reach, leaving room to go up and over the side of the sink. The necessary height and spout length of your faucet will be determined by the placement and size of your vessel sink. The height of the spout should clear the rim of the vessel usually about 3 5 inches from the rim is a comfortable height. The spout should end just over the drain usually 2-1/2 inches or more from the edge of the sink. Proper placement will ensure ample space to wash your hands. 
Wall Mount faucets are ideal for vessel sinks, wall hung sinks and undermount sinks without hole drillings in the sink or countertop. These unique faucets are mounted on the wall above the sink and extend over the center of the sink. Wall Mount Faucets are a great option for antique-style sinks, which often do not have hole drillings. When you choose a wall mounted faucet, make sure the spout will reach to the center of the sink basin, above the drain. This style requires water supplies that extend up the wall behind the sink. Be sure to confirm with your contractor that your application can be adapted to accommodate this type of installation. |
