Product Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice end result but it takes awhile to get there We were renovating our hall bath in our home and wanted a tub faucet that gave us a way to select between bath, shower, or a hand shower. Surprisingly, almost NO vendors make such a combination that doesn't stick the hand shower as an offshoot of the regular shower. I wanted a way to use a transfer valve to select between the outputs and to not force the user to reach up to the shower head and switch a valve up there (which is what you have to do with the "add on" hand showers). After much searching, we found this combination from Moen that was exactly what we wanted. The price was right as well. We ordered from Faucet Direct. The package arrived with all of the parts. My main complaint, and the reason I cannot give the item 5 stars is that this seems to be a combination of several items sold by Moen. You end up with one set of directions for the main faucet that combines the hot and cold water, and then you have ANOTHER set of directions for the transfer valve, which allows you to choose among tub, shower, or hand shower. And then there are NO directions for the hand shower. For the hand shower, I had to look at all of the parts to determine how to install the mounting bar. It took a couple of tries to figure it out. And then when I went to hook up the hand shower to the drop elbow, there's an extra piece, and I couldn't determine if it gets installed at the drop elbow or before the hose hooks to the hand shower. Looked closely at the photo and determine it must go at the drop elbow. If there had been directions, I assume they would have spelled that out. However, I could find no directions, even on line at the Moen site. It all seemed to work in the end. Additionally, the directions for the transfer valve specifically stated to hand tighten the packing nut and then turn 1/2 turn past hand tight. I did that, and the valve wouldn't work in that when you turned the water on, you got water out of all three outputs (tub, shower, hand shower). I removed and reinstalled the packing nut three times, and it still wouldn't work. I finally called Moen, but you need to know if your product is commercial or residential. This is actually a commercial product, and once I was connected with the right tech, the person told me to "really crank down the packing nut really tight." That worked, even though it was expressly against what the directions said. I would say that this product is designed for someone with significant plumbing experience. I would not recommend this for a person who has never worked with plumbing before. I would recommend it to a friend depending on the friend. Assuming I knew that person's DIY experience, I could decide. We do like the look in the end. All of the parts function as desired, and it was exactly what we wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This fixture really filled the gap for a non-jacuzzi, non-bubble tub household. It is a high quality fixture that serves most family demands for shower, tub and hand-held. There is nothing cheesy about this fixture. I spent alot of time before choosing this and it is a homerun. Phenomenal value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used mainly for the valves I had anything but a typical shower/bath install. We did not use the tub filler spout or the shower head. Instead we incorporated a roman tub filler spout and a rain shower head. I had some concern on the valve and how fast it would fill my garden tub. It works exceptionally well. Not as well as a 3/4" input but faster than I ever thought it would. The valves are good. Use the rough in plates to get it to the finish wall surface and you are golden. The hand held shower only has one spray pattern. Oh and it is not listed in the directions, but the vacuum breaker goes on the hook up for the handheld shower where it comes out of the wall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like everthing about the unit but there where no clear install instruction. Simple to understand instructions for the average home owner whould be a big help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moen 8343 Shower Faucet We liked this products and would recommend it to anyone wanting a shower head and a hand held unit. Both work very efficiently. I also use my new walkin shower to bath my standard poodle. The hand held unit work exceptionally well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Pressure Control This is the only available fixture with a tub spout, shower head, and hand held shower that I could find online or locally. Installation was easy, although my contractor had to contact Moen to get a replacement for the defective flow control. This specific fixture has no pressure control and the spray pattern for the shower head and hand held shower are not adjustable.
