smooth operation I got the satin brushed nickel finish and it looks great. Installation was easy, the exterior key was a little fussy, so I re-keyed it to the key I received with it and it then worked as smooth as silk. I am very happy with my purchase, it looks great and installed easily. Great instructions. January 10, 2011
Excellent Dead Bolt The item is very well made and works great. This lock was installed on a very old door located at a farm, by myself. I have had very little experience installing door locks, and the directions clearly explained what preparation would be required for both the door and the door frame. November 6, 2010
better security I bought this lock for better security for my home. It is more sturdily built and more complex than the level 3 lock it replaced. It hasn't been put to the test yet, and I hope it never will be. When installing, be sure not to tighten the screws too tightly, as this will result in difficult, touchy operation. I would buy another one if I had another door that needed it. July 26, 2009
Beware Double Deadbolt Smart Key - do both sides This is a high grade ANSI product that was easy to install and works just fine. From my research, the smartkey is not only anti-bump, but extremely difficult to pick by even the pros. Beware, that with a smartkey double deadbolt, that you need to "learn" both sides of the deadbolt. Handlesets had a great selection, and their price beat the "big-box-boys". February 28, 2009

Warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. This warranty DOES NOT COVER abused or misused products or non-commercial products used in commercial applications.

If a covered defect occurs, email or call 1- 800-327-LOCK (5625) for further assistance. A finish deterioration occurring from the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals is not a defect in the finish and is not covered by this warranty.

Kwikset is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Mechanical and finish warranties are different for each Kwikset brand. One or more brands may be installed in your home (for instance, Kwikset UltraMax Signatures™ on the front door and Kwikset Maximum Security® on interior doors).
