  • What is the difference between single cylinder and double cylinder?

    A. A single cylinder utilizes a throw knob on the inside of the door to lock. Usually this is a thumb lever. A double cylinder requires a key on both the interior and exterior to lock and unlock the bolt.

  • My door closes to the right. Do I need a Left or Right handle?

    A. The Kwikset 801ADH-LIP-S does not need handing specified. The interior pack you add for the inside lever will require that. You determine handing by standing on the outside of the door facing it. If the hinges are on the right it is right handed. If the hinges are on the left it is left handed. You use the handing for the whole door when selecting the interior pack. For example, if your door is right handed you will choose the right handed interior pack.

  • Could you provide me the (height-width) dimensions of the three plates? (1) the lock plate itself. (2) the plate at the top of the handle. (3) the plate at the bottom of the handle.

    A. Here are the dimensions for the Kwikset 801ADH-LIP-S plates: deadbolt: 2-3/4" W x 4" L handle top: 2-3/4" W x 4-3/4" L handle bottom: 1-3/4" W x 3" L

just what I wanted. After looking at 4-5 different stores for a finish that would match my lighting fixtures...I found this finish online and it was perfect. It is a beautiful finish that looks old but works so smoothly and is excellent quality. My new front porch is a show piece! November 22, 2010
looks good Handle set looks good and was easy to rekey. The only issue was very poor instructions (mainly pics, no parts list - so hard to tell what they were showing and not clear, so took awhile to figure out. Liked that this company allows you to get diff inside to match existing. August 19, 2010
Beautiful Purchased this set online vs the store d/t having special ordering instructions and it was over $100 cheaper. I like traditional styling and the ashfield series fit the bill with square lines etc. Iron black worked with all my other outdoor fixtures like lanterns and numbers and the lock works perfect. It's still a little tight to lock/unlock but that will loosen, as it always does. Overall, quick shipment, perfect ordering and I had a special ordering situation so pleased to perfection with this company. A+. June 5, 2010

Warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. This warranty DOES NOT COVER abused or misused products or non-commercial products used in commercial applications.

If a covered defect occurs, email or call 1- 800-327-LOCK (5625) for further assistance. A finish deterioration occurring from the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals is not a defect in the finish and is not covered by this warranty.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Mechanical and finish warranties are different for each Kwikset brand.
