Is this meant to be used with a door that has no bore hole or is there a mounting plate for the back side?
A. The Kwikset 788TNL-RH is a single sided dummy handle. It attaches directly to the door itself and does not have a back side mounting plate. If you have an existing bore hole and wish to use dummy door levers you would need to get one lever for each side.

Define RH and LH... if the hinges are on the left and the door swings in toward you which handle do I need?
A. To determine the handing of your door you position yourself on the exterior of door and as you approach the door whichever side the hinges are on that would be the handing of your door. For example, if you are outside your house walking up to the front door and the hinges are on the left, then the door handing is left or "LH".

Warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed.
