1 Question from the Community

  • Spec says cross bore is 1 1/2 or 2 1/8. I only want 1 1/2. How do I know which I'll get.

    A. The Kwikset 667 can accomodate a 1.5" crossbore, all the way up to a 2.125" crossbore. It is not exclusive and your deadbolt will be able to facilitate your needs for a 1.5" crossbore.

Exactly What I Was Looking For! I researched this item directly with the manufacturer and my local hardware store and found it could only be obtained by special order. I then found Handlesets.com who not only had the exact item I was looking for but I received it more quickly than expected and the price was less than either the manufacturer or hardware store. Buyer Beware! I was thrilled to find this deadbolt, and very pleased with the speed of delivery, but... OMGosh, the finish on it was terrible! I have Kwikset satin nickel locksets and the SmartCode deadbolt on the front door, and this wasn't even remotely close in color or quality. It looked like a home job with steel wool covered with lacquer. The hue was a bit darker, too. Weird. (Note swirl pattern quality difference between deadbolt and lever set in picture.) I'm giving two stars because even though the item fell significantly short of expectations, the return process, no questions asked, was superior. Although I didn't order another deadbolt fearing similar results, I don't have any reservations about buying something else from Build.com in the future knowing I will be treated fairly. May 14, 2010
Perfect I ordered this lock in "satin nickel" finish to add a deadbolt to one of my doors. I wanted a finish that would match my existing locks but was unable to find one in local stores. The lock arrived on time and exactly as pictured. It is a perfect match. I had it professionally installed and it looks excellent! July 25, 2009

Warranties cover the original residential user of Kwikset Products against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed.
