Kitchen Sink Gauge
Kitchen Sink Gauge
Short of paying $1000's, 16-gauge stainless steel is as thick as sinks come. 16-gauge stainless steel is extraordinarily durable, giving you peace of mind that your sink will never bow or dent. Furthermore, Kraus sinks are constructed using T-304 stainless steel. Highly corrosion-resistant due to its increased chromium (18%) and nickel (10%) contents, T-304 is far superior to the cheaper T-409 steel commonly used for sinks.
Sound Dampening
Sound Dampening
All Kraus stainless steel sinks are undercoated with a stone-gaurd insulating material similar to what is used in vehicle wheel wells to protect the car's metal frame, body, and components from driving elements. This, along with the sound dampening pads, significantly reduces the noise Kraus stainless steel sinks make while in use.

Glass Thickness
Glass Thickness
Glass thickness is measured in millimeters. All Kraus tempered glass sinks are surprisingly resilient to knocks and shocks, with the thicker glass sinks (17mm and 19mm) being the strongest. But keep in mind that thicker glass sinks will have a bolder presence in the bathroom - if you are looking for a 'barely-there' appearance, order a 12mm sink.
