The drain is positioned out of the way of the user, either on the side or in the rear, and the low threshold allows for easy entry into the showering space.

affordable shower pan
This shower pan is an affordable alternative to a cast iron one. It feels pretty substantial underfoot also, although nothing feels exactly like cast iron. Overall, I am VERY pleased with how well this works and the way it feels.
