What is a Alcove installation? Do you use a bath tub drain?
A. An alcove installation is design to install between three walls. This is sized similarly to common bathtub layouts and is a popular renovation item when converting a bath to a shower. You would use a shower drain rather than tub drain. Kohler recommends the K-9132.

SHower receptor
This receptor is beautiful. It has made a complete difference in the way my old bathtub space looks and functions. Kohler instructions were easy to follow. the receptor itself is stylish and highly functional. Having this installed for my 80 plus year in-laws has made their shower use a much safer and pleasant shower experience.
