I ordered the Kohler K-8517 because it seemed like a good deal to get a hand shower holder along with the hose, for not that much more than either would cost separately. What I didn't realize until I received it is that the hand shower holder is plastic, and has a cheap, lightweight feel to it. The hose also seemed lighter weight than the metal hose (K-9514 ) that Kohler sells by itself in various finishes. So I sent it back and exchanged it for a hose and for a hand shower holder from the Memoirs collection, which - like most Kohler products - has a very nice, substantial feel to it. The K-8517 may be a good deal if you want, or at least don't mind, a plastic hand shower holder, but it wasn't what I was looking for.
