    A. Yes, the strainer will be of a standard size. The drain hole is also of a standard size. You should be able to use any Kohler strainer with any Kohler Kitchen sink.

  • I believe that I have this sink. If it is not this exact sink it is a Kohler sink that is very similar. There are four holes off to one side. I must plug up one of the holes with a venetian bronze plug. Where do I find this and what is it called?

    A. The Kohler K-5931-4U plug you are looking for is 8830, which the only bronze finish available in oil rubbed bronze.

    A. The Kohler K-5931-4U can absolutely be used with the Kraus KPF-2170. This sink has four faucet holes, but it is an undermount, so you can simply bore a single hole in the counter top and leave the others unused.

Double Basin Cast Iron Kitchen Sink from the Executive Chef Series 5 5 11 12
I've owned this sink since 1993 I had this sink installed in 1993 as a self-rimming sink. I chose a gooseneck faucet, with handles for hot/cold on either side. This faucet has an 8 1/2 - 9" reach. The gooseneck is located about 6" away from the large basin. Therefore, the running water is only about 2"-3" into the corner of the large basin. Over the past 18 years I have only used the small sink on the right for cleaning dishes, washing my hands, well almost everything! The faucet was always located over the small basin. I ended up using the large basin as a drain board - what a waste! Last night I washed a large glass vase using the larger basin, but I had to use the sprayer to rinse it off; if I wanted to use running water from the faucet, water would be running over the divider and I would be bumping the vase into the the side of the basin in order to get it under the flow of water - just too awkward, messy and the possibility to chip the vase. I want to tell you that after 18 years, 3 children (and now 1 grandchild!), large family gatherings and cats/hamsters/goldfish/anoles, etc. etc. etc., the sink is still beautiful - I got a white one. However, if you get this sink as a self-rimming sink, make sure you get a very tall faucet so that it will swing far into the large basin on the left (these faucets weren't made back in the early 90's). We are updating our kitchen and I will be purchasing this sink once again as an undercounter installation this time. I'm going to mount my single handle faucet in the hole on the far left, the hole closest to the large left basin - this way I will be able to use the large basin for washing and use the smaller basin for the dish drainer, etc. I am looking forward to getting my new, more fully-functioning sink! one fantastic sink I looked long and hard before deciding on this sink. I had narrowed it down to a farm sink or this one. I am so glad I chose this sink. The left side is nice and deep and the right side is great for drying veggies, fruit, or anything that one washes. Beautiful sink Kohler products are definitely worth the money. Beautiful colors and well made. In our new remodel I debated over a single large sink vs. the double /same size ones I had before. Used a second sink enough times to realize I didn't want just one big sink. This one solved the problem. The left side is large and deep enough to wash large items like garbage cans and litter boxes. I chose to put the garbage disposal in the left sink, simply because of the way I work in my kitchen. The Sandbar color is beautiful. Faucets Direct service was great. Ordered sink on Sunday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday before noon with standard shipping. Don't know how it got here so fast. Other products I ordered came just as quickly. August 13, 2010

Update of Review My wife disagreed with my tip about the disposal. She likes it on the left (big basin side). The small basket is a drying rack that extends up the sides of the sink (unlike the big basin insert). If we had the disposal on the right, we could not clean food off pots and pans on that side AND use it as a drying rack (unless just doing one item or having a place to hold the items until all the cleaning is done). So, arguments both ways. As I said, with it on the left the annoyance is minor. July 19, 2010
Nice Sink! Great sink. Two tips: 1) put the disposal on the right side (small side). The left bowl is big and shaped such that food debris has to be washed into the disposal with the hose every time. Minor, but an annoyance. 2) If you are getting the basket inserts (nice, we like them), make sure your granite/countertop fabricator has them so he can cut the hole big enough for them to be put in and taken out. The insert for the small bowl is a much tighter fit in the basin and the slight overhang on the granite means we can only put it in and take it out by tilting one edge under the countertop lip. A few thousandths shaved off the granite and we could just lift it in and out without having to manipulate it.. July 16, 2010

Kohler Lifetime Limited Warranty

Kohler Co. warrants its faucets to be leak and drip free during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her home.* If the faucet should leak or drip during normal use, Kohler will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary to put the faucet in good working condition.

Kohler also warrants all other aspects of the faucet, except gold finish, to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her own home. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will (at its election) repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment.
