Can the K-5924-3 kitchen sink be used under granite tops as a undermount?
A. The K-5924-3 is a self rimming type of kitchen sink, meaning the material at the rim is meant for the top of the countertop. The K-5924-5U however is the Lakefield collection sink designed for undermount/under counter usage. While this sink is pre-drilled for 5 faucet holes, you only need to have the number of holes you actually intend to use drilled into your countertop.

A beautiful, sturdy sink!
Ordered this in black. Love it. Just had it installed in our new kitchen, which bridges "century home" and "urban chic". The sink completes the look. it is very heavy, so your sink cabinet should have extra support under the counter to hold the sink.
The divider between sink bowls is lower than the outer edge of the sink, which makes it virtually spill proof. Love it! The main bowl is generously sized, both in outer measurements and depth.
Price on FaucetDirect.com is good, but two warnings: First, you still have to buy the drain/strainer pieces, which are not cheap. Thought they're shown in the picture above, they do not come with the sink. I found mine locally, for a good price, so no worries, though I felt a bit fooled by the site for not having known they were missing. Second point...FaucetDirect doesn't give Canadian customers a shipping choice, so it's very expensive, and it's out of your hands. Mine came on a shipper that I specifically didn't want, because they're so terrible, but in the end, with extra buffer time built in to my schedule, no harm done.
