What is the inside diameter of the opening, front to back and left to right. Will this fit on all brands of toilets as long as it takes a round toilet seat?

Does the K3386 have a toilet seat that is not plastic?
A. The Kohler K-4663 is made with only the one model seat, which is plastic. But, it has typical 5.5" post hole centers for a replacement seat. While the toilet is only offered with the Lustra seat, a second seat of a different material may be purchased separately and will mount correctly.

apparently discontinued
The bolt cover on one side were cracked. FD directed me to Kohler, who then bent over backwards to send me a (current) hinge assy that wont fit. I suspect this seat was discontinued and replaced with a more robust hinge assy. The seat and cover are "thin" and flex a bit under my (150 lb) butt. It is, however, nice looking and shaped well.

replacement seat
After struggling with the Kohler website trying to find a replacement seat, i was happy to get the friendly person at the end of the phone with faucetdirect. He found the right seat, but it isn't quite the same color as our toilet. Not his fault, I guess Kohler has changed the color a bit over the past 20 years since we installed the toilet!!

Kohler Co. warrants its faucets to be leak and drip free during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her home.* If the faucet should leak or drip during normal use, Kohler will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary to put the faucet in good working condition.
Kohler also warrants all other aspects of the faucet, except gold finish, to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her own home. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will (at its election) repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty.
Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler with all warranty claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges, installation, or other consequential costs.
