Rite-Temp(R) 1/2 Inch Pressure-Balancing Valve
This Rite-Temp pressure-balancing valve works behind the scenes to prevent scalding and freezing for a safe, comfortable water supply. The valve features a high-temperature limit stop and an optimal comfort zone, so you can set a maximum high and then find and maintain your desired water temperature. Additionally, the unit has a diaphragm design that virtually eliminates freeze-ups from contamination and water debris. Universal NPT and direct sweat connections need no additional parts for installation.
- Back-to-back installation is ideal for unique or high-volume jobs
- Large internal ports allow quick bath filling
- Flow Rate 6 Gpm at 45 PSI

Low pressure....water not hot enough for me
While I love the look of the new oil rubbed bronze Kohler shower head, I feel this valve limits the water pressure and the water temp too much. I guess it keeps from scaulding you, but I just never quite feel like the water is hot enough now that we installed this new shower head with this valve. Our old shower head had more pressure and got much hotter, which is more to my liking. But.....looks great.

Works fine with my Kohler Forte shower pieces. The plumber had no problems with the install.

Get the job done right the 1ST time.
I have always used Kohler products.I have less problems with them and they always back me up if I need help or replacement parts.These days you pay for what you get. Buy the cheap stuff and you will be replacing it soon,or buy the good stuff and get the job done right the 1st time....Kohler and Moen and also Delta have always put out a very good product for the D.I.Y or those just wanting to upgrade there bathroom or kitchen.

Sturdy
So when you buy the few hundred dollar shower head, you are NOT done. You still need to spend more to get the "guts" of the shower. Of course each manufacturer has their own rough in valve...they couldn't be universal that makes too much sense for their consumer. This item definitely is good quality....just wish it was included in the shower system I bought.

no choice
This purchase was not by choice this valve had to be purchased seperately to go with the faucet. The valve itself was fine. The directions were a little hard to follow so I'm glad I had someone with experience doing the work. I just think the rough in valve should have been included with the faucet kit.

I tried ordering the same item from lowes. it took three weeks for them to tell me it was "out of stock' they told me that they were sorry, i agreed with them. i ordered from faucetdirect.com and it was here in three days. works great. they did everything they said they would.

Kohler Lifetime Limited Warranty
Kohler Co. warrants its faucets to be leak and drip free during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her home.* If the faucet should leak or drip during normal use, Kohler will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary to put the faucet in good working condition.
Kohler also warrants all other aspects of the faucet, except gold finish, to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her own home. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will (at its election) repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty.
Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler with all warranty claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges, installation, or other consequential costs.
