    A. Thank you for your question. The Kohler K-17493 is made of solid cast brass. There will be some plastic and ceramic parts for the more intricate pieces. But the cast and chassis of the piece is brass.

    A. You would typically connect the hose to either a shower arm diverter or a shower arm mount.

    A. The Kohler K-17493 uses very little PSI because it only allows 2.5 GPM.

  • I purchased the Kohler Flipside shower head for a Christmas gift, along with a 6 ft. hose. I have the product, but am curious as to how the head will hang in the air. Do I need to purchase another part to accomplish hanging the head?

    A. The Kohler K-17493 will require some kind of holder, such as the K-975 or K-352.

make sure you get all you need Shower heat was fine and the shower cord purchased separately was fine but there is no way to hang the shower and no recommendation for how to do it making this shower head useless until you find the right part. October 5, 2011
Good quality Well, I was talked into this by the very helpful sales person who was really trying to find a good quality all metal hand shower for us. Everything else on the market seems to be plastic and poorly made. This hand shower is nicely made and is definitely a cool design. Other companies say that they have moved to plastic because people were complaining that the metal products, when dropped, were damaging tiles and glass -- please, give me a break! This is all about cost. I gave it 4 start because we were definitely interested in a massage setting and this really does not have one. It does have 4 settings, but they are really just rainshower, a shower with a bit of a twisted spray (and a bit more pressure), and two jets (one wide and diffuse and the other more direct). I wish I had read the details a bit more before buying this one, but if you don't want a massage setting, this is definitely a good quality hand shower with mostly metal parts and excellent quality for the price. Kohler: please add some more varied spray configurations! September 16, 2011

Buy This Shower Head! Love this shower head. We bought the hand shower although it comes in a regular shower head, as well. It is well build, solid, nice looking and the four different settings are all great. We looked and looked for a new shower head and we are so happy with this one. One of the best showerheads I've ever used! Excellent showerhead - love the four different sprays! Saw the commercial on TV and was skeptical. Bought because it matched the rest of the Kohler hardware and thought it would be the "optional" showerhead for my shower. Absolutely beautiful I bought this after trying out a Hansa2day showerhead that didn't quite fit in to my bathroom (too close to the wall for the needle spray and my water pressure wasn't enough for the waterfall). Shortly after, I learned about this showerhead, and decided to give it a try and it has exceeded all expectations from my research and the videos I saw. The Koverage has a great width of coverage with no missing spots inbetween, while my favorite has to be the Kotton, which gives a soft fluffy spray of water, yet with enough force, and is like nothing I've ever experienced before. While it's not as striking to look at compared to the hansa2day, it is still a pretty nice piece to look at, and definitely it has a whole lot more substance as well! September 5, 2010
Practical and fun to use This is a very cool hand shower that allows you to change between four different spray patterns by rotating or "flipping" the shower head from one side to the other. One full-face side has a lot of nozzles for a gentle rain-type spray, and the opposite full-face side has fewer nozzles, for a little more concentrated and pulsating spray. The other two spray patterns use the edges of the shower head and give you a more concentrated spray. This unusual "flip" design makes it particularly easy to change spray patterns - most adjustable shower heads require you to twist the face clockwise or counterclockwise, but here you just rotate the shower head around its axis. This is easy to do, even with soapy hands, because you have a lot of area that you can grab onto. The one thing I might improve is that the two sprays from the edges are quite similar - one is a wide flat spray pattern, while the other is more narrow and concentrated but still basically flat. I think I would prefer if the concentrated spray were more rounded and not as flat. But this is a minor complaint about what is otherwise a very good product. I recommend it. July 2, 2010
Nice Features Although when I first received this product, I was disappointed that it seems to be plastic instead of metal, I was very surprised by the features (4 different shower patterns) and how easy it is to change to a different water pattern. Kohler Lifetime Limited Warranty

Kohler Co. warrants its faucets to be leak and drip free during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her home.* If the faucet should leak or drip during normal use, Kohler will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary to put the faucet in good working condition.

Kohler also warrants all other aspects of the faucet, except gold finish, to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as long as the original purchaser owns his/her own home. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will (at its election) repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty.

Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler with all warranty claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges, installation, or other consequential costs.
