Is the width of the tub 32" or 45.3"?

What is meant by drop in tub? Is the pump located opposite side of the drain?
A. The Kohler K-1122-RA is an alcove tub which comes with the apron. A drop-in tub has no apron. Installer would build platform, cut out hole, tile or other finish and literally 'drop' the tub into the hole. The pump is located on opposite of drain.
