Material

There are many materials to choose from, each with their own attributes. Some of the more common materials used in Faucets and Accessories are Brass, Stainless Steel, Metal and Zinc Alloys. These offer excellent corrosion and tarnish resistance while allowing many finish options.

Others found in many fixtures such as Sinks, Tubs, and Toilets are various materials such as Vitreous China, Enameled Steel, Cast Iron, and various Acrylics.

A few examples are of materials you will find here:

-Brass is derived from alloys of copper and zinc in a solid solution. In comparison to bronze which is principally an alloy of copper and tin. Despite this distinction, some types of brasses are called bronzes.

-Stainless Steel is one of the most hygienic surfaces and very easy to clean. The unique surface is non-porous which will not harbor dirt, grime or bacteria. Stainless Steel has a high tolerance to corrosion while offering a useful life expectancy of over 100 years!

-Vitreous China offers a long lasting, sparkling surface that resists scratches, fading, and will provide a long lasting finish.

-Enameled Steel is less expensive but very durable and easy to clean. Enameled Steel is the choice when economy is required.

-Various Acrylics are used for most specialty baths. for its forgiving nature and flexibility. The non-rusting surface also allows the inclusion of whirlpool or therapeutic jets as the material can be easily modified.

Faucet Holes

This will be the number of holes that will be required to install the faucet you are interested in. If you are replacing an existing faucet that has uses more holes than desired, you may wish to select a faucet that has an optional escutcheon plate to cover the unused holes.

This will be the measurement from the floor to the highest point on the fixture.

Length

Length is the measurement, in inches, from right to left of your product.

Width

The width is the measurement from front to back in inches.

Depth

This measurement defines how deep and item is or protrudes. Example - A sink bowl may be 8 in depth.

Faucet Centers

The faucet centers are measured from the center of the furthest right hand hole to the center of the furthest left hand hole.

Spout Reach

The spout reach is measured from the center of the mounting hole to the center of the aerator.

Spout Height

Measurement from the deck (mounting surface) to the top of the spout.

Valve Type

Ceramic Disc: These are becoming the standard in bathroom faucets.Expires 2/28/2013 Ceramic discs have replaced rubber discs inside the spout for a lifetime of drip and leak free performance
Washerlesss Cartridge: These valves are easier to repair and tend to cost less than other valve styles, but they tend to require more maintenance over the lifetime of your faucet
Metering and Self-Closing: These valves are used mostly in commercial applications where you want to reduce the amount of water used. When turned on water will flow for a set period of time, and then turn off automatically.
Solenoid: These valves are used mostly in commercial applications where you want to reduce the amount of water used. When turned on water will flow for a set period of time, and then turn off automatically.

Spray Pattern

Spray Patterns regulate the flow, water droplet size and direction of the water stream. Choose a shower head that will meet your needs a Rain shower that is as gentle as a summer rain or a firm multi function to relieve aches and pains.

This is the measurement, in inches, across the center of the shower head face.

Drain Placement

Right or Left? How can you tell which is which? Whose right whose left? Its easy- just stand in front of your fixture facing it- if your drain is on the right then you have a right drain placement and visa versa. Your drain placement will be on the save side as the wall where your shower faucet is.
