I have a Hot-1 which historically needs replacing every one to two years!...Will the Transcape h wave ss fit in the installation area the hot -1 did? Is the counter cutout hole the same dimension? The hookup basically interchangeable?

Not as hot as advertised
I am a coffee and tea drinker. We live at sea level in Hawaii, so this is not affected by location. We are on our THIRD tank in a year--the water just is NOT hot enough. it says the factory setting is 190F, but it's not. When one follows the directions and slowly increases the settings to maximum, the water will eventually reach 195F. The problem is the 2nd tank was measuring only 180F with the dial at max after 2-3 months. They advertise "up to 200F" temperatures. it is impossible to get that temperature. Coffee and tea need specific temperatures or they can taste weird. I am sad and if this one drops in temp again, I will call it quits and buy a countertop, plug-in unit instead--those are dependable. I just liked the idea of something under the counter that we didn't have to fill all the time. sigh...

it works
I found this instant hot water easy to install. It works fine. It is noisy, which is hard to belive, I know, what is there to make noise? Well, when it heats up it is audible. It took me awhile to figure out where the noise was comming from. It works, the price was good. My last unit quiet after three years, (different brand) it was very quite, and too exspensive to replace. I do enjoy having instant hot water when ever and for what ever, we use it all the time.

This Hot water dispenser replaced a Kitchen Aid unit that was in our home when we bought it 16 years ago. It's much more attractive than the old one. So far it hasn't spit and sputtered like the old one occasionally did and the water is plenty hot. We love it. I just don't know how people get along without one of these. It will be a requirement in any home we own from here on out.

Highly recommend
Our hot water dispenser is one of our favorite items we added in our remodeled kitchen. We love it and use it more often than we thought. Friends said to add it and we are glad we listened. I looked at several different types but like this one the best.

Very very nice.
Our new hot water dispenser replaced the one that was installed when our house was built. The instructions to install were clear. The fittings all worked smoothly and I was able to install the new unit quite easily. It looks great and works wonderfully.

this was exactly what we ordered. we replaced one that came with our house for three years ago. I strongly recommend this product. The lever seems strong and the hot water flow/pressure is perfect. Looks sleek and modern. Instant hot is the way to go!
