  • Correction: the Hansgrohe 27458 is a plastic cover around a metal elbow.

    A. The plastic portion on the Hansgrohe 27458 is to prevent it from becoming too hot to the touch and is more resistant to corrosion than metal.

  • It would probably be helpful to explain why all of these supply elbows (no matter brand) are partially made out of plastic. I'm assuming it's so you don't have a boiling hot piece of metal on the wall?

    A. The Hansgrohe 27458 is made of plastic parts to prevent it from becoming too hot to touch. Also it resists corrosion better than metal.
