what else will I have to purchase to install this product - other valves, diverters, etc?

You mention that a ThermoBalance and "perhaps" a volume control is required - this is not very precise - exactly which parts are needed please specify part numbers.
A. The Hansgrohe 27164 will need a trim (Hansgrohe 04231) to control the water, temperature and diverter for the option of turning off the hand shower. The 04231 has all of this in one trim. The rough in valve (Hansgrohe 01850) works with the trim behind the wall to direct traffic, so to speak.

Stunning and sublime
A beautifully-designed and wonderfully functional product. The 9.5" rainshower head is so relaxing and really much larger than the picture conveys. Look at a round cake pan for layer cakes. That should give you an idea. The mechanism is GENIUS! I love the wand, too--very European and sleek. You will LOVE this product! I love it in my newly transformed bathroom--I now have an in-home spa. Thanks Hansgrohe and Faucet Direct!
