  • when this valve closes is the pump deadheaded? If the pump doesn't shut off, could I just use a check valve in lieu of this?

    A. Per Grundfos the Comfort Valve system is set up so that the pressure will not equalize between the hot and cold and therefore never deadhead. The hot water side will constantly trickle into the cold water side so that the pressure inside the system will run at all times.

  • what i the average 'life span' of this valve? I am getting only hot water at the sinks closest to the valve.

    A. The average life span of valves usually depends on the mineral content of the water that is flowing through your system. Harder minerals and deposits tend to build up faster and clog the flow of water through the lines quicker than water that has a less mineral content.
