Looks Nice, only for a while
I purchased this shower unit approximately 1 year ago and was initially rather disappointed in the construction as most of the unit is plastic, though it looks to be chromed metal in all the photos. The only part that is metal is the slide pole that the handle mounts to and the hose.
After a year of use, with softened water, the pole and hose have corrosion marks and stains all over them. I am extremely disappointed in this unit. For the money, I expect quality, this is not what I received.

Great style and Function
Its typical Grohe standards of high quality. Some plastic parts, but I don't think that will matter. Once installed, it looks and functions great. I'm not sure about keeping the soap tray on there yet. I can see it getting kind of scummed up easy, but its a nice place to set the razor..

The greatest shower ever
Great Grohe quality, adjustable height, fixed height at top. Adjustable spray with head that rotates. Fabulous.

Custom Shower System, Last Minute Add On
My friend decided she wanted a handshower for washing her hair to complete out the custom shower system.
Without adding any additional handles we changed the extra K-T10943-1 volume control and K-671-K rough into to function with the the Grohe 28 574. When the main control's on the main shower head and the sprays will together, the extra switch will pump water over to the handshower. We lost some functionality with how many applications could be on at once but squeezed and extra shower function in the custom build.
This handshower's an all inclusive package with the showerhead, slidebar, hose, and soap tray. The only thing needed was a Drop Ell (or Wall Supply Elbow).
We talked about using a shower arm diverter but aestetically it wouldn't be as pleasing as the clean look of the handles on the wall.
Overall we were very pleased with the outcome and the shower's working perfectly!

Residential Products
GROHE provides the following warranties on its products to the original purchaser, installed in a residential application. This warranty is effective for all faucets sold after January 1, 1997.
Mechanical Warranty
A Limited Lifetime Warranty is provided on all mechanical parts to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for as long as the original purchaser owns their home.
General Finish Warranty
A 5-Year Warranty is provided on all GROHE product finishes (except the InfinityFinishTM) to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
InfinityFinishTM
A Lifetime Warranty is provided on all GROHE products with the InfinityFinish to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. At its option, GROHE will repair or replace any part or finish that proves to be defective in material and/or workmanship under normal installation, use and service.
To obtain warranty repair or replacement the faulty part or product is to be sent along with proof-of-purchase (original sales receipt) from the original consumer purchaser to:
