30 Questions from the Community
Are the slide bar and fitting plastic or brass?
What additional parts/pieces do I need in order for complete installation?
A. You will need a wall elbow for the hose to connect to and a shower trim (handle) to turn the water on and off. If you are replacing an exsisting shower head you can connect the shower hose to the shower arm and then you wont need the elbow.
I want to use this with the Grohe 27 007 Multi Head Shower Head. What kind of rough-in valve/supply plumbing will be required to use in tandem with the multi head shower or separately?
A. The rough-in valve will be more specific to the shower trim, for the hand shower you would want a diverter valve to divert the water the hand shower. You could look at the 19 272 for the trim and the valve will come be sold separately.
What is the size of the hose included? Is it a twist free metal Hose?
Do I need a wall unoin to install this?
Does the Grohe 28 917 require a rough in valve or not? There are conflicting answers in the other questions that were submitted. Thanks.
I have an existing shower head and want to add a hand held shower. Can I switch off between the two? Do I do that at the connector or on the hand held shower device its self?
A. The Grohe 28 917 can be added to an existing shower system with the addition of a diverter. You can either install a simple shower arm diverter like the Grohe 28 036 or add a single handle diverter into your plumbing lines like the Grohe 19 494.
Can I add a soap dish to this shower bar. I want brushed nickel and the only other shower bar with a soap dish is available only in chrome
Is there a compatible Grohe soap dish available?
Are wall elbow connection, wall union, wall supply elbow the same things or different. What do I need for Grohe 28917
what additional parts are needed and what ceiling hung rain shower head will work with it
A. The Grohe 28 917 is a wall mounted hand shower and would need a supply elbow to connect to the plumbing and a valve and handle trim to activate the water flow. Any ceiling mounted rain shower head will be appropriate as this fixture is an independent fixture.
IS THE HOSE METAL OR PLASTIC AND CAN OTHER HANDHELD SHOWER HEADS BE USED.
are the hose connections universal so that I can use my own handheld shower.... and if so, is it possible to purchase only the slide bar and mounting brackets?
On the 28 917 -- do you carry a part that turns the water off (midway thru a shower) so that I can shampoo. i.e. a diverter of some sort?
Can THE SLIDE BAR for 28 917 be purchased separately?
How do you make it swivel?
When would you use a 24" slide bar as opposed to a 36" slide bar?
how do you adjust the angle of the shower head in the holder - so the water sprays down not out
I would like to know can this be used as a working shower?
Does the lock mechanism that allows the shower head to slide and swivel lock tightly and stay in place when locked?
The vertical slide shows that it can be tightened by hand. Can the swivel part also be tightened seperately? How is it kept from loosening?
Is there a compable soap dish that comes in brushed nickel?
What is Grohe's item number for the hose which is supplied with this set?
How do I tilt the shower head down? I know it moves up, and down, and left to right, but how do I change the angle so it sprays down instead of straight out?
On your product details, you list this model as having a 2.5 flow rate. But under the technical specs the flow rate is listed as 2.0. What flow rate is it?
does the securing knob made of pastic or metal
Is the hose included? What is the length? Is there anything else I need?
I want to use this hand shower with slide bar. This will be the only shower head. I have a bathtub/shower combination. What other components/parts do I need, tub spout, valve, etc?
I have a broken Grohe swivel hand shower holder (plastic portion which secures the hand shower). Can I purchase a replacement separately?
Does the showerhead tilt up and down? What are the 5 spray functions?
