Is the universal tray removable if I don't want it?

Does the locking mechanism stay tightly locked in place after turning or moving up and down?
A. The Grohe 27 142 has a knob for securing the hand shower on the slide bar. You would turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it, slide it up or down the bar, and then turn it clockwise to tighten it again. Once tightened, it should not move (nor should you attempt to move it.)

best purchase
Our 14 yr. old Grohe mounted hand held shower system for our steamer shower finally saw it's day! In researching for a replacement discovered FaucetDirect. They were able to get the same system, obviously more updated, at a better price than the original. They were so helpful and it was delivered within 2 days. Sure there are some plastic parts on the system, but so did our original one and it lasted 14 years!
Later I contacted FaucetDirect about a Kohler sink part. To display their honesty and helpfulness; they recommended to call Kohler direct and save ourselves money because Kohler warranty covers the part for life. Faucet Direct was correct; Kohler replaced the part for free and no shipping. FaucetDirect could have taken our money!

Looks nice
Looks nice, but was expecting a chrome METAL finish. Was disappointed when the only thing that's in metal is the hose. I was told at a bathroom supply store that multi-function heads are done in plastic because of the weight. There is a nice variety in spray options. Overall I'm pleased with the product, it still looks great even though it's a plastic chrome finish.

Heavenly Shower
This shower is incredible. It delivers a spray from relaxing rainfall to a soaking shower to an invigorating pulse and massage. The adjusting slide bar is great especially if the users are of different heights. Very smooth operation.

Mechanical Warranty
A Limited Lifetime Warranty is provided on all mechanical parts to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for as long as the original purchaser owns their home.
General Finish Warranty
A 5-Year Warranty is provided on all GROHE product finishes (except the InfinityFinishTM) to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
InfinityFinishTM
A Lifetime Warranty is provided on all GROHE products with the InfinityFinish to the original purchaser against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. At its option, GROHE will repair or replace any part or finish that proves to be defective in material and/or workmanship under normal installation, use and service.
