Grohe 19 166 is a diverter trim kit I like, I need to know what is the matching mixing valve trim kit number and the number of the rough in valve.
A. The rough in valve required for the 19 166 diverter trim kit is item number 29 712. The matching other valve would be 19 724. It has a few rough in valve that can be used depending on what you need. I have sent you another email with what you will need.

do you need a separate volume control valve and trim before (or after) the thermostatic control, in addition to this 3 port diverter trim and valve, if you were to have a showerhead and a handheld? In another words, does this trim and valve have an off position to eliminate the need of a separate volume control? If so, doesn't it make sense to have 2 volume controls instead of 1 volume control and 1 3 port diverter?
A. If you are using a grohe thermostatic trim you need a volume control to be able to turn the water off and on. You can use multiple volume controls to control each application and then no diverter would be needed. In short you would need at least one volume control and one diverter or two volume controls to control the hand held and the shower head.

Can I use this diverter to obtain water flow from both over head and hand shower ?
