Wilshire Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Brass Modern Handleset

Emtek's single cylinder handlesets use traditional American locks complete with a variety of trim styles, handcrafted from authentic materials. The handleset is operated by a key from the exterior, and a thumbturn from the interior. The door is opened from the exterior by a metal handle with thumb grip, and by your choice of a variety of knob and lever options from the interior. Uncompromisingly rugged and beautifully crafted, these locks are suitable for the very finest homes. Note: Beaded Egg Knob, Dog Knob, Lafayette Brass Lever, Lancaster Knob, Ribbon & Reed Knob, Ribbon & Reed Lever, Rope Knob and Rope Lever not available in Flat Black finish. Hammered Egg Knob not available in Lifetime Polished Brass.

The Brass Modern Collection's knob / lever handles are supported by springs mounted behind the rosettes and sideplates, which return the handles back to the rest position and prevent lever sag. The latches are heavy-duty die cast construction, with strong internal springs, solid brass nose bolts, and sintered metal cams. A plastic bushing located in the joint between the handle and the rosette ensures a friction-free wear surface, preventing metal from bearing on metal and providing smooth, long-lasting operation. Handles are positively connected to rosettes with a permanent clip. Each has a set screw which eliminates "handle wobble" when tightened. Emtek's threaded tubes are machined brass to ensure good threads and prevent corrosion.

  • Explain further the purpose of interconnect device. Is it necessary?

    A. Thank you for your question. The interconnected system is not necessary, but convenient. What it does is connect the deadbolt to the latch on the inside, so that if the deadbolt is locked and the handle is turned from the inside, the deadbolt will deactivate as well.

  • Can we get this handle keyed the same as the Weslock Impresa?

    A. The Emtek 4211 can be keyed the same to Weslock on special orders. We would have to special order it for a Schlage keyway.

  • What does the inside of the Wilshire handset look like?

    A. The Emtek 4211 is offered with a choice of interior knobs, all of which are available for selection on the product page. The interior plate will be the same as the exterior single plate.

  • Does this product have a deadbolt latch for the other side? It is not shown in the picture like many of the others

    A. The Emtek 4211 will include the interior piece to the deadbolt.

  • Does this work with a door that is double bored?

    A. The Emtek 4211 does work on a door that is double bored. The bore holes will need to be 5 1/2" center to center.

    A. The Emtek 4211 (Wilshire) has an overall height of 17.5" and is 2-11/16" wide.

    A. The Emtek 4211 only uses Schlage keyways.

very disapponted The instructions were almost nonexistant. What instructions were given were unclear. The screws provided did not fit their receiving ports. It took us almost 4 hours to install which included re threading part of the receiving ports Way too many parts provided with no guide on which ones to use. July 19, 2011
You get what you pay for This was the first handleset I had ever purchased that did not come from the big box stores and it's absolutely amazing. Fabulous experience I didn't find anything I liked in the box stores for a new door I purchased so I searched Handlesets.com and found several pieces which were very nice. I love the design I love my new front door handleset and the Arts and Crafts design. The new door and hardware changed the whole look of the house.....it looks and feels great! Very Stylish & Durable (so far!) I ordered the Emtek Wilshire for my new Arts and Crafts door, in addition to the 8468 Single Cylinder Decorative Brass Deadbolt, both in oil-rubbed bronze. Nice quality handleset, great price The Emtek Wilshire handleset is very nice quality. The finish is flawless, and the build is very solid. The mechanism, including deadbolt and lever assembly is nice and tight---no slop. I compared the Emtek with the typical Schlage, Kwikset, and even Baldwin at Home Depot and there is no comparison. The others felt cheap, especially the mechanisms. I feel like for the money I paid I got great value with the Emtek. I will definitely consider this line again if I need another set in the future. Emtek Limited Warranty

Emtek Products, Inc. (the “Company”) warrants to the original purchaser that, except for products with Rust, Deep Burgundy, Medium Bronze, Flat Black Patina and Silver Patina finishes, the products manufactured by it (the “Products”) are free of defects in material and workmanship, provided:

  • the Company has been notified within five years of purchase date and has been given the opportunity of inspection by return of any alleged defective Products to the Company, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances, transportation prepaid, accompanied by a statement of defects and proof of purchase; and
  • the Product has not been modified, abused, misused or improperly installed, maintained and/or repaired during such period; and there is no warranty on Rust, Deep Burgundy, Medium Bronze, Flat Black Patina and Silver Patina finishes.

The Company shall, at its option, either repair or replace, free of charge, any Products or part thereof found upon the Company’s inspection, to be so defective, or at the Company’s sole discretion refund the purchase price, less a reasonable allowance for depreciation, in exchange for the Product.

The Company makes no other warranty, and all implied warranties including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to the duration of the expressed warranty period as set forth above. The Company’s maximum liability hereunder is limited to the purchase price of the product.
