Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective I bought the item in October of last year. The plumber installed the item in January of this year, and I found that I wasn't getting water that was hot enough. The plumber upped the max temperature - still not hot enough. So, the plumber removed the nut or whatever to allow the handle to go past the max temperature - still not over 100 degrees F. Because the water gets very hot in the rest of the house, the plumber suggested that the valve is defective. So, Build.com is sending a replacement. I will follow-up once we know whether or not it's valve - or plumber - causing the snafu.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good rough-in valve. The valve is a good quality item. It can be used in more than one way which makes it convenient for the customer. The valve was easy to install has a mounting bracket attached which is not on all rough in valves makes install much easier for installer. Would buy this item again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replacing Rough Valve in old wall The product was fine, and the final result was good. I was replacing a 70-year old shower valve that was leaking, motivated by a desire to upgrade to a modern cartridge type. I wish I had paid more attention to physical dimensions of the new valve. With the (well-built) thickness of my existing plaster/tile wall, the valve wouldn't protrude far enough into the shower side of the wall. With a lot of chiseling of concrete, I finally got the job done. If such a longer-throat valve exists, it would have made the job a lot easier. If you have an older, thicker wall, look for such a valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exactly as needed This item completed the job perfectly. It is priced well and meets any job specs fr performance.
Date published: 2012-08-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Code Issues The item was exactly what it was supposed to be, just be certain it meets the code for your area. I had to go out and buy a different model locally because the local code required the screws that allow for shut off at the valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Replace old ball style valve with this. Housing appears to be heavy duty brass that will last longer then I will. This is 2nd one I have used, so I'm plesed with it. Would buy agqain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, better supplier The Delta valve and cover are certainly acceptably good products, though the instructions for setting the water temperature are both poorly written and hidden in an arcanely designed PDF file (not at all available in the written matter with packaged with the product). That is, you have to go online to Delta and search for the proper product insturctions and then ... good luck.
Date published: 2011-08-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Nice anti-scald feature allows you to adjust the maximum hot water flow. Easy to position, as they give you plenty of room for error with relation to the finished surface level of the wall. I did have a plumber install this for me; I don't do soldering...
Date published: 2011-07-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-Designed Valve This is a substantial, well-designed valve compared to the 20 year-old old one I broke trying to repair a dripping faucet. Soldered copper connections were easily installed (by a pro plumber), and the faucet cartridge, handles, and trim attached according to instructions with no problems.
Date published: 2011-07-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just average The installation was easy but the flow is lacking. Knowing what I know now I would have gone with a high flow model since I was installing a tub without a shower.
Date published: 2011-05-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation, Great Price We purchased this valve for a bathroom remodel. We bought a Delta shower/tub kit and needed the rough-in valve, it cost way more everywhere else I looked. It was easy to install and works perfectly. Our old one would not fit the newer tub diverter we purchase and this was the right choice. The price was better than anything else I found online or in stores locally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job great.
Date published: 2011-04-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect fit This came with everything needed to simply mount in the wall and tile around it. It works great, precision made. The trim and pipe work fit like gloves on to this valve rough in body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exact match! I had no idea I would need this valve but it was highly recommended on the site when I purchased the shower fixture. I ordered the suggested one and it was perfect and just what was required according to my plumber. SO, don't forget you might need a valve too.
Date published: 2011-04-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good as expected. It is a Delta valve. Delta quality is good as expected. If you need to use it in a shower remember it does not come with a plug for bottom port. No big deal just need to get one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly universal. I appreciated the note that came with our Rizu showerhead and handle to purchase the rough in valve to make the shower functional. I needed to purchase a second rough in valve to make our hand held shower functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great service timely, efficient and good price; order was just right and worked to our satisfaction.
Date published: 2010-06-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great. This value allows you to set the hot/cold mixture of the water and leave it set so the next time you turn on the shower, you don't have to mess with getting the right temperature. One caution though. You must install it with copper pipe. Plastic pipe can cause the shower to drip alot when you turn on the top spout. Follow all the directions for installation.
Date published: 2010-06-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Item I purchased a few of these for some new shower installations... I must say, they were as described and with an easy installation.
