  • Why does a faucet have to be aerated? Is it bad if it is not?

    A. Thank you for your question. An aerator is used to help even out water flow in a fixture enabling it to come out in a nice even flow. In the case of this faucet it is not required and it is perfectly OK.

  • The chrome moder spray is the same shape as faucet itself, as on the picture??

    A. The Danze D401544 side spray looks like the photograph. It's square like the base of the faucet.

Danze D401544 Faucet splashes too much I read the reviews about the Danze D401544 faucet not having an aerator (sp?) after I baught it. It's a beautiful faucet. I could not figure out if I should have cancelled my order before it was shipped. I choose to chance it. Unfortunately it was a bad decision. You really have to run the water VERY slowly in order not to splash. It splashes all the way up the window and all over the counters. Form should follow function. If the faucet cannot function as a faucet properly it serves no use. So far I am distraught that I choose it, being beautiful but not working properly is a problem. Now I have the faucet and will be stuck with it. Maybe I'll get used to it but I can say that it was not worth the design. July 4, 2011
Looks great but splatters! I couldn't agree more with the other reviewers who stated that this faucet looks great but splatters like crazy. I truly can't stand it and am looking for another faucet that will fit in the same hole that is now drilled in our granite countertop. Plus, the water pressure through the faucet and sprayer is really weak, so it won't clear my sink into the disposal. One more problem - the front/back hot/cold mechanism (instead of left/right) didn't pass inspection since it didn't have an indicator stating which way was hot and which was cold. November 17, 2010

Good looks/poor performance I bought this faucet for my newly remodeled contemporary kitchen. It looks sleek and impressive BUT what an utter disappointment! As the previous reviewer said, there is NO aerator!! A faucet in this price range without an aerator is just inconceivable. Who designed it??? The water from the faucet splatters all over the place; it's impossible to wash anything without water getting on your sleeves and all over the countertop around the sink. I spoke to the Danze people and they acted as though a faucet without an aerator was nothing unusual. I'm trying to live with it because it's too late to return. But I'm constantly looking for another equally good looking faucet (requiring two holes) that won't splatter like crazy. April 29, 2010
Good Looks bad function I bought this faucet because it matched the square stainless sink we just installed. This faucet is not aerated, it does not state this in the description. It slashes everywhere and continues to drip after you turn it off. You might as well have a garden hose hanging over your sink. Sent it back got a Moen 7597 have not received it yet but it is close in style and is aerated. March 20, 2010
