  • This will work for a room of that size.

will be using fan in an electrical closet/room to assist in ventilating both dampness and any fumes from charging battery bank (2 deep cell marine batteries) used for emergency power back-up (running power inverter). Do you think this fan will do the job? Again, closet or room is very small, probably 3.5 feet by 4.5 feet by 6.5 height. Will be hooking up the Broan 24 hr timer so that fan does not run all the time. thanks, Joe

  • The Broan 512M is the perfect size for venting the odors for a half bathroom. This is not a 100% seal from the outside and could cause a draft.

Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works well The fan has been installed for 2 months and it works well. I do not have a timer on it, so it is shut on and off and it is not as loud as I thought it would be. There were much pricier ones that claim to be super quiet. This fan is installed upstairs and when the house is quiet I can hear it, which is a good thing just in case someone may have left it on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered The fan was perfect for our remodel needs. We had no attic room for a ceiling exhaust fan, so this "through the wall" fan fit the bill. The installation was super easy and the bathroom stays steam free; the mirror doesn't even fog up. The fan is a bit louder than some, but in no way unpleasant. One of the things that attracted me to this particular fan was its size... A little fan doing a big job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bath Vent Fan Installation fairly easy. Only issue was the wiring box was a little tight so the connection box was removed (easily) and the connections were made and then the box was restored. Had to do so because the ground was impossible to reach without removing the box first. Other than that, it runs and hopefully will do the job after the bathroom is finished.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Qaulity Product Purchased to install in a small bathroom and as a vent to the outside instead of roof installation. Installation was very straightforward and easy to follow instructions. Does a great job clearing our small bathroom 8' X 8' and keeps the humidity down. Noise is not bad, about as loud as a small window unit AC or a floor fan on high. Would recommend based on installation and operation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, Affordable Product I was looking for a through-the-wall bathroom exhaust fan to replace an old, installed fan, and this was the only one I could find. The new fan works well and is a lot quieter than the old one. The new fan is rather basic, and I'm surprosed they do not offer a nicer, more sophisticated, "better" through-the-wall fan. The staff at VentingDirect.com were very helpful and considerate. I would use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good resonable priced product I couldn't find a through the wall ventilator anywhere in my local area of Grants Pass, Oregon so I was pleased to find this resonably priced product on your site. The delivery was timely, and the product is installed, and working fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great replacement fan. needed a round fan to replace an existing one that had gone bad. The spec's were correct. The new fan fit with a minimum of alterations. It's far quieter than the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product We needed a pair of exhaust fans for our bathrooms. After purchasing the first one, decided it was worth getting the second one. The fans have a sone of 3.5, which is low enough for me and it was easy to install, though changes in my installment method were needed due to the construction of our older model home. We are pleased with their performance.
