3 Questions from the Community

  • Does this work with Serin Trim kit and control temperature as well as divert from the shower head and tub spout?

    A. The American Standard R110SS is a rough in valve so it will work with any trim kit and it does mix the hot and cold water.

  • what are the screwdriver stops for?

    A. With strewdrive stop means that the valve includes shut-offs for the water line so you don't have to shut off water to the entire house to work/repair parts on the shower/tub system.

  • I'm a novice and my plumber will be installing. What's the difference between R110 and R115...is there an advantage to the "SS" designation?

    A. The difference between the R110SS and the R110 is the SS model comes with screw driver stops on the unit to shut off water supply at the source. The difference between the R115 and the R110 models is the R115 has female threaded connections and the R110's have cover sweat connections that you solder pipe directly in.

Quality product My grandson is the plumber that installed this valve. He was very impressed with it. He felt it was very good quality. Everything has worked beautifully. He explained to me the good mechanisms of the valve and that I had made a very good purchase. April 21, 2011
