Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reversing American Standard cartridges For those of you who don't know how to reverse the handle rotations on these universal cartridges, here is how to do it. These cartridges have 180 degrees of rotation that are closed in the middle of that rotation. The key is the stop washer with the tab on top of it, that only allows 90 degrees rotation at a time. Once you have the new cartridge(s) installed, but before you have replaced the escutcheon(s) and handle(s), try rotating the stem to see if the rotation is correct. If it is not, first make sure the cartridge is in the "off" position, then remove the tiny spring clip that holds down the stop washer. Then lift the stop washer enough to rotate it 90 degrees to the other stop. Replace the clip and then check again. Rotation should now be reversed and you can finish the assembly of the escutcheon and handle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product and its cost were excellent. However, there were no instructions, and when I installed it on the cold water side, it worked backwards, and it seemed that it was designed for the hot water side only. Only after considerable research and studying the valve did I determine that the top of the valve had to be dissassembled and reconfigured to get the handle to work in the proper direction on the cold water side. A simple note with the valve about this extra requirement would have saved me a lot of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cartridge for bathroom fauset. I found that this cartridge is good for hot and cold water. In order for it to work for the cold, you have to remove the pin and reverse the piece it is holding down. No directions to let you know. I called American Standards and they are very helpfull.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Website for Faucets Purchasing the parts online was easy. There were parts for alot of faucets that are no longer in your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Finding parts are easy even if you dont know the name brand due to the pictures that are on the site. This site save me from having to purchase another faucet because I could not find replacement parts in the store to fix a leak. I repaired the leak for approx 25$. I will use this site again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works with Home Depot Williamsburg shower body In spite of the fact the my licensed plumber insists it is impossible to find replacement parts for plumbing fixtures purchased at the big chain stores, this valve is the exact replacement needed for the both the hot or cold water shower valves in my Williamsburg model shower set purchased at Home Depot. You simply reverese one part to make it work for hot water, comes ready to install for cold. I would have given it 5 stars but like the orginal, the handle brass screw mount is apt to break easily from over tightening causing the hadle to become loose. Otherwise no complaints.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but Instructions would be nice After going to Home Depot twice to try to find this part, I finally found it on this site. It came right away, and worked perfectly. However, it would have been nice if it had come with instructions on how to switch the cartridge for opposite rotation direction, as it's not obvious to someone who doesn't do this for a living (and wasn't obvious to my building superintendent, either). Had to read through the faucet installation instructions online, when all I wanted to do was replace the cartridge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from satisfied customer I was satisfied overall, but would like for the customers to know that this part is not labeled left or right. Also because I am a plumber I was able to figure it out. Faucet Direct should make sure they have instructions as to how to use this part for a right or left handle faucets meaning hot or cold faucet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked This part fixed my leak perfectly. Other reviews said that this part works for both hot and cold sides, but some instructions on HOW to switch them would have been appreciated. I'm not terribly mechanically inclined (nor am I a plumber), and it took me almost 40 minutes to figure out how to switch it over. Switching it was simple (take the spring clip on the top off, rotate the metal washer 90 degrees, and replace the clip) once I figured it out.
