Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Last Purchased 2 of these seats in 05/11 and they looked nice and were easy to install and functioned as advertised - nice soft close. In less than a year the silicone dampening fluid started leaking from the hinges and the lid & seat started dropping faster. After another 6 months, the lid & seat would fall just like a regular set. I called American Standard and related the problem and asked if I could purchase new hinge inserts (contain the leaked silicone) which would solve the problem. Since parts are not available for this model, A/S sent me 2 brand new seats - very nice customer service. The same problem with the new seats started in a year, as before, with the dampening fluid leaking from the hinges - after 6 months more they are functioning just like the original pair. I'm going to give A/S customer service another go and try to get them replaced. Hopefully the hinges have been redesigned so that they won't leak. Supposedly all A/S products have a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser - we'll see.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad design I had trouble installing this lid. I do not like the design at all. Very flimsy, hope it lasts - especially for the price. I like the quick-lok toliet lids - this "slip-on" model is weak. Almost gave up and returned it, but managed to get it to stay on. Don't force the lid down or it will pop-off. Tip the lid and let the mechanism work by itself for best results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very functional, like the "slow close" Plumber installed this seat with our new toilet (see other review for corner American Standard toilet), so I can't comment on ease of installation. Looks good, functional and we like the "slow close" feature - works great. No more "slamming" of the seat!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied Slow close feature works as intended, just would like to see it made a little beefier, seems a little flimsy .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No detail instructions Install instructions need to have an expanded view. Doesn't give you the hardware part sequence. Leaves you unsure if you have installed seat correctly.
