Product Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good choice, with qualifications This faucet is solidly made with a beautiful chrome finish, and operates smoothly. As with recent American Standard faucets, it has a quick connect pop-up drain that is a snap to install and operates really slick. The faucet is bulkier than it appears in the photo; more like a fat little teapot than the elegant faucet it may at first seem. I might have kept this faucet except for one serious problem. The spec sheet available on this page is missing a critical dimension: the clearance required for the pop-up drain to operate. What's not obvious from the drawing is that the pop-up knob pulls out from the back at around a 45-degree angle instead of vertically. The centerline of the mounting hole on my sink was located 2-1/4 inches from the backsplash, and even when this faucet was pulled as far forward in the hole as it would go, the pop-up knob hit the backsplash before the drain was closed. Probably a good 1/2 inch of additional clearance would have been necessary, and even then it might have felt a bit close to the fingers.
