AS 2 Flushing:

  • 2” flush valve – The flush starts with a flushing system that employs a standard 2” valve opening. Controlled by a flapper that is engineered to be chemical-resistant, American Standard flushing systems are highly regarded for their durability.
  • 360 degree cleaning – Water entering the bowl does so in a sweeping 360-degree motion. This is designed to help completely clear the bowl, even while using less water.
  • Powerful siphoning water jet – A perfectly positioned water jet captures the circular flow of water for optimal performance with minimal energy loss (water doesn’t hit a flat spot and slow down). As waste and water exit, they are siphoned into the trapway for an unmatched push/pull one-two punch.
  • 2” fully glazed trapway – Waste and water exit the toilet through a 2” trapway that is fully glazed, which seals it and provides for a smooth surface that waste can in no way cling to.

Other Technologies / Benefits:

  • Right Height – Right Height bowls lift the sitting-height an additional 1.5 inches off the ground for a more comfortable seated position that is easier to get in and out of. This feature is particularly well liked by men, taller women, and the elderly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small This toilet is small. Really small. It allowed me to use an elongated bowl in a water closet that was only 53 inches deep but still leave plenty of room in front of the toilet. However, that's all that this toilet has going for it. I don't like the look of the toilet handle on the front. It would be nicer if it was on the side. It also does not flush well. When flushing, I need to hold the handle down for about 2 seconds to get it to flush nicely. It does not even come close to flushing as well as my Toto. It is expensive. A Toto is actually the same price when you consider that the Toto comes with a self-closing seat. I would only recommend this for small areas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not greatest American Standard product. I like American Standard products and have a 12 inch rough in, right height, elongated, 1.6 gallon flush toilet by AS in one of our bathrooms and love it. So when needing a 10 inch rough in, right height, elongated, 1.6 gallon flush toilet for another bathroom, I went with AS again. The good thing about this toilet is the height, the elongated bowl and the 1.6 gallon flush. Also, because it is in a very tight space here, the much smaller tank profile is nice. However, the handle is a cheap, thin plastic and I expect it will eventually need to be replaced. The toilet arrived minus the bolt covers, so I had to purchase those separately (got them from another company), and the seat that was recommended for this toilet is not nearly as nice or as the one we bought for the AS Cadet toilet. This seat, like the handle, seems to be made of thinner plastic. Also, we really wanted a white toilet, but went with the linen because we wanted the AS brand. AS no longer makes this model in white. And actually, unless you want to take out a second mortgage to pay for one, the choices for 10 inch rough in toilets are quite limited. But I suppose as long as the handle holds up, and the seat lid does not crack, I will be very satisfied with this toilet, assuming it works as well as the AS Cadet does.
