- Deep Soak: This patented overflow system works with an exclusive drain, positioned significantly higher within the bathing well. With water depths reaching 2” to 4” deeper than other bathtubs, Deep Soak tubs allow for better full-body submergence.
- Americast: 7 years in the making, Americast’s unique three-layer construction consists of a smooth porcelain-enamel finish on high-quality alloy, backed by an injection-molded structural composite. It offers the same structural thickness and rich enamel colors as cast-iron, but is half the weight, and does a better job at retaining heat, preventing chips / crazing, and absorbing sound.

What is the weight of the bathtub?
-
Do the tiling flanges extend down to the floor?
-
does the tub set directly on the floor?
-
Is the back of the tub sloped at an angle, so the bather's back is supported or is it more straight?
-
How deep and wide is this tub?
-
How does Americast compare with Vikrell? Which one would be less prone to scratching? Thanks.
-
What is the degree of angle on the slope of the back rest?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 doesn't have a specified backrest "grade". We can infer that it slopes very sharply, reaching the bottom of the well from the rim after about 3" of horizontal distance. This is derived from using the manufacturer specification sheet, and other measurements presented.
-
Does this tub have armrests? If not, are there any American Standard tubs that do have armrests? Thanks very much.
-
Can I use a Kohler K-11660 drain assembly with the American Standard 2460.002 tub?
-
Can I install a shower door with this tub or are the ledges slopped?
-
I read a review that said this tub is very slippery. Can you comment on the texture of the base of the tub? (This will be used for both bathing and showering and I'm concerned about safety.)
-
Description states a left hand drain, but can it be purchased with a right hand drain?
-
What type of shower surrounds are compatible with this model ?
-
What is the slope/angle of the back of the tub?

Excellent soaking tub!
This is a fabulous tub- arrived in perfect shape and it is large enough to soak in, but not so large that a bigger water heater is required.

Slightly used
This bathtub was a replacement for another of wrong color.
The one we ended up installing had once been installed and removed later. It had some damage on the upper skin that can be covered. I would like this company to send me a repair kit to cover up the 50cent piece size portion. I'll send pics if asked.
Thank you in advance.
John and Jackie.
Otherwise company and service is great.
