Conventional Jacuzzi takes its length measurement from the longest part of the tub's frame. The length measurement is represents the outside portion of the tub, not the the basin length.
Corner For corner tubs, the length and width are one in the same. These dimensions are also measured from the outside portion of the tub, not the basin.

This measurement represents the height of the tub's frame. It measures the outside frame of the tub, not the the basin height.
This signifies which side the drain is placed in relation to other equipment mounted on the tub. Stand in front of your current tub, if drain is on the right, order a "right" drain. Same goes for "left" and "center".
After establishing which side your drain will be, the next equipment related decision you will need to make is where you would like the pump mounted. Pump placement depends on where your access panel will be. Most installations require either right or left mounting. Note: Skirts on three-wall alcove tubs are removable and act as the access panel.
